In this tutorial I will show the steps needed to create a high definition television in paint shop pro 9. I am not to sure what you could use this for. Maybe a electronics site. If anything its good practice.
Step 01.
Direct Link
Create a new document 400x300px. Then create a new layer. Layers > New Raster Layer. Turn on your grid CTRL+ALT+G, Set the grid to 5x5px View > Change Grid, Guide & Snap Properties. Now choose your "Selection Tool" set the "Selection Type" to "Rectangle" and "Anti-alias" checked. Make a rectangular selection leaving some space on all sides of the canvas.

Step 02.
Direct Link
Now we need to remove parts of are rectangular selection to get the right shape. Change the grid to 1x1px. Now choose your "Selection Tool" with the "Selection Type" set to "Triangle". With your mouse 1-2 grid lines below the top of your selection and close to the horizontal center, press CTRL and drag you mouse towards the left edge and release. This should remove a section of the rectangle selection.
Repeat this step on the right side. Now change your "Selection Type" to "Rectangle". Move your mouse over the lowest spot on the right side of your removed triangle selection. Press CTRL and drag the mouse over up and to the lowest spot on the left side of your removed triangle selection and release. The top of your rectangle selection should look somthing like this. NOTE: THIS IMAGE IS JUST A EXAMPLE. ACTUAL IMAGE SHOULD NOT HAVE SUCH DRASTIC ANGLES

Step 03.

Now lets set the shape for the bottom. Grab your "Selection Tool" and with the "Selection Type" set to "Ellipse" press CTRL, start in the center bottom and drag the mouse to the left or the right and release.

Step 04.
Direct Link
To smooth those jagged edges a bit. Selections > Modify > Feather Set the feather's number of pixels to 2. Flood Fill the selection now with #C0C0C0 make sure that the flood fill tool is set to "None".

Step 05.
Direct Link
Create a new Layer. Set your "Selection Tool" to rectangle. Make a selection like the one below and flood fill it with #404040.
