We are going to create a fade effect for the speaker edges. Since we lowered the opacity of the speaker layer we can't float it anymore to regain the selection shape. So we will just make a solid color layer of the speaker selection shape that we will delete later. With the speaker layer still selected create a new layer and flood fill it with any solid color.

Now create another layer with your rectangle selection tool and holding CTRL remove most of the selection. Leaving just a small portion like the one below. Set your foreground to #c0c0c0 floodfill this selection with the "Fading-Foreground" gradient set to angle 270.

Choose the solid color layer we made then Selections > Select All > Float Do the same thing on the right side as you did on the left but make sure you set the gradient angle to 90.

Select the solid color layer again Selections > Select All > Float. Create a new layer. Use your rectangle selection tool to remove most of the selection. Leaving just the tops of both sides. Flood fill the selection with the same "Fading-Foreground" gradient. This time with the angle set to 180. Set the layer opacity to 68.

The T.V. was modeled after the t.v. in my bedroom which is an HD t.v. it just happens to have the 4:3 aspect ratio. Its an older HD t.v. Anyhow thats not really the point of the tut.

Good tutorial, but it isn't HDTV, it's ordinary CRT. Change the aspect ratio from 4:3 to 16:9 and add HDTV logo.
